Senior Project Manager/Waste Sector Market Leader

The primary duties of this position include all aspects of technical engineering, project management, pursuits, marketing, and client relationship management. Work is primarily focused on civil and environmental projects which include vertical facilities, land development, site grading, local land use permitting, federal and state permitting, storm water design, volume calculations, geotechnical/geosynthetics, feasibility studies, capital planning, operations planning, and other civil/site requirements such as utilities. Other general civil/environmental experience with planning, engineering analysis, cost estimating, design, construction management, planning, and permitting/regulatory compliance is required. Municipal solid waste (MSW), coal combustion residual (CCR), along with other waste management experience a plus.

Planning, design, permitting, and construction administration of civil/site and environmental projects (landfills, vertical facilities, brownfields, remediation). Experienced with and/or knowledgeable in storm water controls, groundwater monitoring and remediation networks, leachate management systems, and site layout/infrastructure elements (i.e. utilities, roads, support buildings). Serves as a lead engineer and project manager on small to large projects and is expected to demonstrate a history of progressive experience effectively leading similar scale projects. Serves as a project manager for key projects. Prepares scope of work, budget estimates, and independently coordinates work of multi-discipline professional staff to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction. Tracks financial aspects of projects and coordinates and adjusts work effort with team. Works with Project Accountants and Area Business Group Managers for internal project reviews with company management as needed. Facilitates teamwork, communication, and work-sharing between HDR offices and business groups. Participates in business and community activities as a representative of HDR. Participates in local and regional strategic planning activities for the Waste Sector. Assists leadership in sustaining and growing client relationships and organizing and contributing to overall business development opportunities. Identifies upcoming project opportunities and participates in project pursuits and proposal development, including developing scopes of work and budgets. Coordinates and interfaces with junior staff to mentor and grow teams. Other duties, as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in civil engineering or related engineering degree. 10 years' experience. Professional engineer (PE) license in Missouri and/or Kansas.
