We are currently seeking a skilled Machinist to join our production team and contribute to our mission of advancing healthcare through cutting-edge technology. Summary As a Machinist in our medical device manufacturing facility, you will play a vital role in setting up and operating various machining equipment, which may include Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Your responsibilities will involve the production of intricate parts that meet stringent quality and safety standards, contributing to the creation of life-saving medical devices. Responsibilities Set up and operate a range of machining equipment, such as Swiss type lathes, mills, mill-turn equipment, centerless grinders, or multi-axis grinders. Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure precise part production. Select and install tooling, work holding, and fixtures appropriate for each job. Read part prints and job orders for all product specifications, i.e., dimensions, tolerances, inspection, number of parts to be machined and tooling instructions such as; cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools required. Use machine controls to cycle machine through; production operations, set-up, adjusting tool positions, and changing Also to review machine operating criteria such as cycle time and spindle rpm. Install and adjust specified cams, gears and stops to control stock and tool movements at each station. Change, position and secure tools in tool holders by utilizing tool monitoring system and presetting equipment. Perform first piece sample inspection according to the operation control plan. By utilizing qualified measuring devices, the machinist monitors the part dimensions through continuous checking of part features and process control tools (such as SPC). Maintain all lubricants and coolants, and other operator maintenance, on the machine that are used in daily operation. Perform data collection and communication tasks in Epicor and other applications. Participate in continuous improvement activities and use the accepted tools, such as brainstorming, C&E, tool tryout sheets. Perform routine equipment maintenance and troubleshoot to maintain optimal machine performance. Monitor machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and inspect parts to ensure quality and accuracy. Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines within the manufacturing environment. Document work performed and maintain comprehensive production records. Keep work area clean and organized. Other duties and tasks as assigned.
