Working hours are Monday - Friday, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm, with shift differential and overtime available. The Hourly Rate is $24-$29 per hour (DOE). Able to operate one or more major machines and one or more minor machines. Sets up all fixturing and cutters to perform machining operations on all kinds of metals, casting, forgings, and fabrications by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Works from a "work at machine" schedule on a computer system or from verbal instructions from production control. Uses a computer system to clock in and out of daily work. Follows router on shop order or Non-Conformity Ticket Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. Uses measuring tools to control machining operations such as dial indicators, micrometers, scales, tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools. Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers. Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media. Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to specifications. Does basic maintenance to machines, including checking and maintaining oils and fluids in machines. Reports problems with the machine. Grind and sharpen tooling as needed. Makes setup sheets for new jobs and updates old setup sheets. Confers with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining problems Keeps machines and work area clean and free of debris. Able to operate forklift and other lifting devices Follow all safety precautions and practices safe working habits. Reports all unsafe conditions and injuries to the supervisor immediately While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and will require the use of hearing protection.
