System One is looking to hire an Engineering Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Houston Tx. This role is responsible for leading the detailed process design, and project execution strategy for both capital projects and for expense/maintenance projects within the Solvent business. This position also includes managing the DCS Engineer, Process Manager, Project Manager and Utility Engineer. Essential Functions Ensure that capital projects are executed on a prioritized basis with effective designs, to achieve on-time completion within their budget. Support Plant troubleshooting and improvement efforts Develop the design, project engineering, and construction management skills of all engineering team members. Manage the operation and strategic planning of our Honeywell PKS control system, including oversight of the MCH Process Control Engr. Set process design standards and practices for the MCH site – maintain existing practices and implement improvements to stay current with industry best-practices. Communicate with the MCH Process Safety Manager on the priorities of shared engineering resources, and also on overlap decision-making concerning project engineering and all aspects of Process Safety. Communicate with the MCH Capital Projects Manager on all aspects of capital spending planning, project scheduling and vendor practices, and purchasing/billing/documentation requirements. Education Qualifications Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering Experience Qualifications Required Broad experience in process design, project execution, process operations – exposure to all three areas is required in order for this position to properly plan and manage practical solutions for the facility. Direct Management experience and development of employees is required. Licenses and Certifications A state of Texas Professional Engineering license is encouraged, but not required for the position. Honeywell training in programming our Experion PKS system is required for oversight of the system, but this training can be obtained after starting this role. Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting. Raising objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds consistently from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. Possible subject to environmental conditions. Activities could occur inside and outside. Subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour. Subject to vibration. Exposure to movements of the extremities or whole body. Operate/drive utility vehicle. Subject to hazards.
