General Function:
The HR Recruiter will assist the Recruiting Department in coordinating the full-cycle recruitment process, focusing on substitutes and non-certified applications. This position will support recruitment logistics, ensure compliant documentation, and assist with maintaining the organization's applicant tracking system (ATS) and background check process. The HR Recruiter will be the main point of contact with several school site administrators and department directors to prioritize employment needs for substitutes and non-certified positions.
Education/Training/Experience:
Minimum : High school diploma with 1-2 years of Human Resources experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer software knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Highly organized and able to meet deadlines. Basic knowledge of human resources/ recruiting concepts and principles.
Preferred : Public School experience. A minimum of one year's experience using an ATS is preferred. Good knowledge of state and federal laws affecting Human Resources. Prior recruiting experience. Bilingual in Spanish and English.
Knowledge/Skills and Abilities: 1+ years of experience in a full-lifecycle recruitment environment.
Experience in proactive candidate sourcing from multiple sources (i.e., Internet, college/university, advertisements, etc.)
Ability to maintain confidential District information.
Excellent communication, time management, decision making and problem-solving skills.
Strong clerical and organizational skills
Great communicator. Enjoys working with people face-to-face, on the phone, and via email.
Works with urgency and effectively prioritizes work.
Accuracy for entering data into multiple systems.
Ability to problem solve and think quickly on feet.
Comfortable engaging with all levels of the organization, with different personalities.
Essential Job Functions
All functions are performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, safety and environmental regulations, and facility and computer security policies and procedures. Functions are subject to change from time to time to meet the needs of the District. Current essential functions include but are not limited to the following: Main point of contact for several schools/departments and their substitute and non-certified hiring needs
Collaboratively develop and implement recruiting practices and procedures.
Use applicant-tracking systems to identify and source high-quality applicants.
Research and recommend recruitment sites and services. This includes researching websites, social media, associations, job fairs, newsletters, etc., for job posting options.
Travel to job fairs, both in and outside New Mexico.
Establish strong partnerships with HR staff and hiring managers to meet the hiring needs of the district.
Collaborate with HR staff to create marketing materials and job ads and determine their placement.
Ensure legal and organizational compliance throughout the recruiting and hiring process.
Utilize data from various sources (vacancy reports, recruiting sources, turnover reports, etc.) in the recruiting and hiring process to make strategic decisions.
Conduct new employee orientations.
Collaborate with HR staff regarding strategies to improve the recruiting process.
Collect data to be used in reports and worksheets as needed.
Participate in meetings, including staff, administrative, district, state, and others as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Salary Range:
$42,848 to $55,460+
Resources Used in Performing Job Include (but are not limited to):
Computer, an applicant tracking system, and an HRIS system to support the recruiting efforts. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and HRIS.
Physical/Cognitive Requirements:
Must be able to sit at a desk or computer for long periods during the day. Heavy telephone use. Excellent interpersonal skills to deal with calls both inside and outside the District. Manual dexterity to operate computers and other office equipment. Requires light physical exertion, including some walking, bending, and reaching. The environment may be hectic with constant ringing of telephones and frequent interruptions. Overtime work may be required.
Environmental Conditions:
Be able to sit for long periods. The typical office environment has many interruptions all day. Most work is performed indoors, and some driving is involved, traveling from site to site.
