Data Analyst

This is an Intermediate/Mid-Level role at Taylor. The Data Analyst is a synthetic and divergent thinker who can explore an infinite number of solutions and combine ideas into a complex whole. With moderate direction and guidance, the Data Analyst work within defined limits on assignments of moderate complexity, demonstrating intermediate craft skills and knowledge reflective of a fully competent practitioner. They are also expected to uphold Taylor's vision and values through personal behaviors.

Primary Responsibilities (The What)

Measurement & Optimization Conduct day-to-day social listening, insight measurement, monitoring, digital analytics, and reporting for assigned clients. Collaborate with Strategy and Account teams during the strategic planning process to define meaningful campaign measures and benchmarks. Proactively communicates analytic performance throughout campaigns, identifying strategic gaps, and providing actionable recommendations for campaign optimization. Collaborate with Taylor's internal agency marketing team to review social and web performance analytics for Taylor, contributing recommendations for optimization of ongoing social media and marketing content. Research, Insights, & Thought Leadership

Partners with Strategy, Account and Creative teams to stay abreast of cultural trends, news, and media industry landscape, developing relevant insights that help inform client thought leadership, white space opportunities, marketing strategy, and creative work. Plans and conducts effective qualitative and quantitative research efforts, including surveys and moderator guides, social listening, using data tools, and providing analysis of results. Conducts industry landscape and digital analyses of prospective clients in support of new business efforts. Remains current on marketing, communications, technology, channels, consumer behavior, and cultural trends, and infuses this knowledge into all strategic work Demonstrates a passion for learning and understanding what makes consumers take certain actions within social media and how/why they engage with specific content on those platforms. Tools & Processes

Serves as the go-to expert for all of Taylor's research, measurement, and reporting tools. Organizes and leads regular trainings for Taylor staff on applicable tools. Provides proactive recommendations for how Taylor can evolve our research and data analytics capabilities and offerings through access to new tools and platforms. Collaborates closely with Strategy and Finance on contract negotiations and renewals to acquire and/or maintain tools and resources. Communication & Storytelling

Writes, presents, and communicates in a polished, articulate, and persuasive manner across all mediums, internally and externally. Listens well, building relationships internally and externally through respect, responsiveness, and open dialogue. Demonstrates a basic understanding of the agency's business model, structure, and offerings and how they come together in service of a client partner's business needs. Distills complex research and analytics concepts into straightforward, actionable insights that inform strategy - demonstrates an ability to tell clear, simple stories with data. Effectively manages internal communications, including explaining strategic frameworks/plans, setting appropriate expectations, and responding to questions or concerns. Begins to demonstrate skill in leading meetings and delivering formal presentations (client and internal). Begins to contribute positively to Taylor's brand presence by engaging in social channels, thought leadership pieces, case studies, and other content and communications. Business Acumen

Completes timesheets accurately and in a timely manner. Begins to learn and understand the scoping and budgeting process for assigned projects. Proactively flags and escalates any allocations or work-load issues, collaborating with strategy leadership to resolve issues accordingly. People Management

Demonstrates diversity of thought, and encourages others to do the same. May participate in interviewing and selecting fellows for the agency. Minimum qualifications and requirements:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, PR or related field and/or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years prior experience in PR agencies with media relations responsibilities Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, and time-management. Writes, presents, and communicates in an articulate and persuasive manner, across a variety of platforms, including social media. Team player who enjoys working with and helping others in a collaborative environment. Curious and open to others' ideas and view points with a willingness to learn and take constructive feedback. A good problem solver who seeks to make improvements and learns from mistakes. Compensation

$65k-75k/year (depending on location and experience).
