As the Senior Analyst, Data Operations, you will take ownership of assigned responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of data pipelines that enable cross-functional business teams including AbbVie’s MABI Analytics Teams, Incentive Compensation and Field Reporting teams. The Senior Analyst, Data Operations plays a critical role in ensuring that weekly, monthly, and quarterly processes related to data are executed and documented correctly. The Senior Analyst will take action based on results of data quality monitoring tools, including ad hoc data analysis and informing partner teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Act as the Data Steward for assigned subnational datasets and the pipelines that update and refresh them, ensuring adherence to the USTO Data Governance Operating Model including:

Partnering with Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Data Custodians to translate business needs (evolving business logic, business data quality rules) into automated transformations and quality controls, with support and guidance from manager

Managing the issue management queue arising from automated quality controls and user-submitted issues including prioritization, resolution, communications, and KPIs

Designing and executing root cause analysis related to identified data quality issues under the guidance of the data operations manager

Keep the business data glossary up to date as data feeds evolve, ensuring that terms, classifications, and business rules are effectively documented and accessible to data users

Ensure that all compliance-related classifications and tagging are complete for Critical Data Elements associated with assigned subnational datasets, and support any audit requests as per manager guidance

Document and submit data change requests to data vendors, coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery for assigned data sets and communicate internally in case of any delays

Facilitate appropriate communication with data users about news items and alerts impacting datasets they use by maintaining the log of news and alerts, documenting communication actions taken for each product news, and drafting data newsletter content for manager review

Continuously improve subnational data operations by implementing process changes as aligned with manager, supporting process health measurement, and identifying opportunities for further improvement

Develop subject matter expertise in the data pipelines through which assigned datasets flow into downstream use cases, leverage this expertise when collaborating with downstream users on opportunities for improvement

Support smooth operations and continuous improvement of internal and third-party analytics pipelines that leverage business logic applied to claims data to split HCP-level product TRx into product-indication TRx and NBRx as per manager guidance

Facilitate new data onboarding and changes to syndicated data purchases including new suppliers of subnational data by taking ownership of assigned action items and driving to completion

Effectively communicate status, results and achievements across all the appropriate teams

Qualifications

BA or BS degree required. MBA or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related technical field is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree plus 3+ years of related work experience, or Master’s degree plus 2+ years of related work experience (business, system or commercial analytics, IT/systems experience)

Strong working knowledge and experience of working with SQL, Python, Power BI, and Excel

Demonstrated ability to use analytic tools such as Dataiku or SAS.

Experience working with Snowflake or Commercial Data Lake Platforms.

Good understanding of commercial data sources and data needs within pharma (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony Health).

Experience with data management tools and platforms (e.g., data warehouses, ETL tools).

Experience contributing to operational processes with strict cadences (e.g weekly or monthly deliveries) and ensuring they run on time

Experience contributing to data & analytics roadmaps

Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving

Role requires the ability to understand the commercial environment and business needs and translate to data and infrastructure requirements.

Strong communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with cross functional teams and vendor partners.

Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance

Contributes to a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

Salary: $80,500 - $153,000
