Who We Are
At Marmon Plumbing and Refrigeration, our mission is to protect and secure the IT infrastructure supporting our businesses. We're committed to safeguarding our systems and data, and we're looking for an experienced IT Security Architect to join our team and lead these initiatives. While we prefer candidates based in the Chicago, IL area, we are open to remote candidates in CST or EST.
What You'll Do
As the IT Security Architect, you will play a vital, hands-on role in our cybersecurity efforts. Responsibilities include:
Conducting on-site risk assessments at various company locations to identify potential gaps and develop tailored mitigation strategies (initial travel is 10-15%, adjusting as needed over time).
Implementing and enforcing security policies and procedures to maintain a secure IT infrastructure.
Developing a Zero Trust Architecture roadmap in collaboration with IT leadership across our businesses.
Managing security technologies such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
Monitoring security events, handling incidents, and investigating any potential security breaches.
Leading security awareness training programs to improve best practices across the organization.
Preparing security posture and risk reports for management, while coordinating with both corporate and group IT teams.
Supervising a Security Analyst and managing vendor relationships for essential security tools.
What You'll Need At least five years of experience in IT security management, preferably within a large organization.
Strong knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF 2.0), and expertise in security tools, such as firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Security (Intune, Entra AD, Azure), Cisco, VMWare, Qualys, SentinelOne, and Abnormal Security.
Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Preferred: CISSP, CISM, or CISA certifications and experience in decentralized IT environments or familiarity with the FAIR risk methodology.
