Fantastic Senior Director of Accounting opportunity within a global retail company. This role will include but not be limited to technical accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation reporting.

My client is a global retail company headquartered in the New York City area going into the office 3 days a week.
Description
Responsibilities:
- All financial reporting & consolidation reporting to parent Company, including preparation of all financial statements inclusive of segment reporting.
- Preparation of monthly financial reporting package - Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Statement of Cash Flows
- Analyze the impact of new accounting and reporting requirements; liaison with Parent Company's consolidations group; provide responses in regards to U.S. GAAP disclosure requirements
- Work closely with finance team to understand reporting needs as it relates to current / new processes, partnering with IT finance business analyst to develop and enhance these reports and ERP displays through identification of critical attributes required as part of process.
- Enable and drive process improvements to accelerate and optimize accounting close
- Plan, organize, coordinate, and control financial policies.
- Work closely with finance and cross functionally to design, and develop process improvements (SOP's) and best practices
- Create and enhance current process narratives, develop and design controls where needed
- Work with parent Company's internal audit team
- Maintain automated systems to support operational efficiencies in the collection and analysis of financial data and to ensure accurate and reliable financial records
- Key stakeholder for finance system implementations
Profile
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- MUST have expierence within the retail or CPG space
- 10+ years of progressive experience in accounting at a publicly traded company
- Highly Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft applications
- Extensive background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Must have flexible thinking and be able to work cross functionally
- Must have an analytical mindset and have strong problem-solving skills
- Results orientated, flexible, resourceful, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple deliverables
- Must possess demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work with competing demands
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective communication and strong leadership and teamwork skills
