Director of Operational Accounting Job at Tandym Group in New York

A real estate firm in New York City is actively seeking an experienced a professional to join their staff as their new Director of Operational Accounting.

Responsibilities

The Director of Operational Accounting will be responsible for:

• Overseeing a large team of Controllers and Property Accountants
• Timely financial close for all entities including balance sheet reconciliations
• Development of standard operating procedures for the department.
• Timely submission of teams work products to ensure internal and external deadlines are met
• Standardization of work papers across the portfolio
• Collaborating with and supporting the Asset Management & the Financial Reporting team to ensure accurate and timely investor reporting
• Performing other duties, as needed

• 5+ years of related Accounting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Working knowledge of Yardi
• Proven track record in being a champion of Process Improvement
• Technical Property Accounting knowledge of OPEX, Lease Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Tax
• Solid analytical, mathematical, and research skills
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized
