As a Dental Assistant II, you'll be the right-hand superhero to our dentists and dental hygienists, making every patient's visit a breeze. From prepping treatment areas to educating patients on oral hygiene, your role is vital in ensuring everyone leaves with a bright smile.
Essential Duties:
- Assist patients in resolving minor difficulties, answering their questions, and giving directions as authorized by the dentist.
- Collect and record patient health history.
- Prepare the treatment area by sterilizing and setting up for procedures.
- Serve as the dentist’s chair-side assistant, delivering instruments and materials for easy access.
- Maintain dental department equipment and work areas in compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
- Manage operatory supplies and handle inventory control.
- Participate in daily huddles and complete assigned checklists for a smooth day.
- Assist with clinical and administrative office functions as needed.
- Support the dentist in advanced procedures such as crown/bridge prep, oral surgery, and endodontic treatment.
- Perform lab procedures such as pouring impressions, model trimming, and fabricating mouthguards, temporary crowns, and other appliances.
- Educate patients on post-op care, oral hygiene, and clinical forms.
- Schedule follow-up appointments when required.
- Provide proper handoff to administrative staff for ongoing treatment needs.
- Make post-op follow-up calls for patients undergoing invasive procedures such as extractions or crowns.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- X-Ray Certification
- Two years of experience (preferred)
- Current CPR certification
