Gwynedd Manufacturing, a growing defense contractor located in North Wales, PA, is a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility dedicated to producing quality products for the U.S. Department of Defense and various U.S. Federal Law Enforcement Agencies. This position is also posted as a Production Planner, as we find candidates who hold these titles have a similar skill set. The Scheduler is a key role within our organization. This person utilizes their data-centric mind to extract data from within our ERP system to plan and schedule the work throughout our shop. The Scheduler is responsible for utilizing data to develop schedules.
Responsibilities
- Extract and analyze data from our ERP and other systems to create current and forecasted needs; review historical data to set part parameter; establish production standards for work center scheduling.
- Create, update, and maintain schedules for multiple departments
- Create jobs and priorities based on the current and projected needs of the company
- Analyze inventory levels across multiple phases of manufacturing to understand priority needs and job sizes
- Communicate scheduling conflicts with management throughout the production process
- Direct and assist the Production Control Coordinators and Material Handlers with production priorities.
- Utilize Epicor to track the status of current jobs and update the production team with any discrepancies during the production process
Requirements
- Minimum 2yrs manufacturing planning experience in an MRP supported environment.
- Some college and CPIM or other relevant certification preferred. A background in logistics, inventory control, or purchasing is beneficial.
- Self-starter and comfortable working in a team or independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where priorities sometimes fluctuate.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (including strong Excel experience)
- Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly learn new computer software
