Job Description
Dynavac is in search of a talented and experienced Manufacturing Engineer (5 to 10 years). Dynavac, located in Hingham MA and Rockland MA (south of Boston), is an engineering and manufacturing company that builds custom high vacuum process capital equipment systems for a range of applications that includes space simulation and thin film coatings. We continually invest in new technology to improve quality, cost, and delivery. This role will help accelerate investment, assist in recent investment integration and realize ROI.
The person will be part of Dynavac's Manufacturing Engineering Team. The role requires a combination of project management skills, hands-on skill and a strong theoretical background in Advanced Manufacturing Technology. System solutions are project based and range in size and scope from < $50,000 to $10 MM +. Typical systems require a broad range of technical disciplines including:
- Design and fabrication of medium to large scale pressure / vacuum vessels
- Design and assembly of complex mechanisms and material-handling systems
- Field integration
Responsibilities:
- Integral part of the Manufacturing Engineering team. This team is responsible for implementing new technology, improving methods of manufacturing, design for manufacturability, documentation, problem solving and waste elimination.
- Will help assess current equipment and methods to allow development of future plans with justification and ROI.
- Integral part of the drawing review process including router generation and make/buy decisions.
Background / Experience:
- Machining Technology – Equipment Operation, Maintenance, Acquisition – 10 years
- Hands On Machining Experience Custom Equipment – Conventional, CNC – 10 Years
- Advanced Fabrication Technology – Laser, Robots, Waterjet, Plasma Cutting, Welding – 10 years
- CAD – SolidWorks – Ability to create and revise drawings – 5 years
- CAM – Practiced in programing – 5 Years
- Metrology – Practiced in advanced methods – Laser, CMM, Geometric Tolerance – 5 years
- Supplier – Experience in evaluation capabilities, selecting and assist in qualification – 5 Years
- Quality – Familiar / experience working in an ISO / AS 9100 environment – 10 Years
Education
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ordinary requirements found in an office work environment with frequent work on the manufacturing shop floor.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to vibration. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The employee sometimes works in an open shop environment with no air conditioning and is seasonally exposed to heat.
