The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as a Supplier & Contract Manufacturing Manager, where you'll collaborate with third-party manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure the compliance, quality, and safety of consumer-ready products under various GPN brands. You'll work with internal and external cross-functional teams to bring both existing and new products to market, managing GPN's food safety and quality relationships with our contract manufacturers. The Opportunity
Join our dynamic team as a Supplier & Contract Manufacturing Manager, where you'll collaborate with third-party manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure the compliance, quality, and safety of consumer-ready products under various GPN brands. You'll work with internal and external cross-functional teams to bring both existing and new products to market, managing GPN's food safety and quality relationships with our contract manufacturers. This role reports to the Quality Director and duties include but are not limited to the following;
- Food Safety Compliance: Ensure food safety requirements are adhered to in all tasks performed.
- Support GPN Food Safety Management System: Evaluate and support systems such as environmental pathogen monitoring, process controls, sanitation systems, allergen controls, traceability systems, documentation controls, and training activities.
- Audits and Visits: Perform site audits and visits to monitor manufacturing and supplier partners for adherence to food safety and quality systems standards.
- Performance Tracking: Track supplier and manufacturer performance, execute follow-ups, and CAPA activities when needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Establish ongoing continuous improvement activities with suppliers to deliver optimum performance concerning metrics such as first-time quality and consumer complaint mitigation.
- Project Management: Manage projects that support the commercialization concerning assessment of potential contract manufacturer and supplier capabilities.
- New Product Launches: Assist cross-functional teams with new product launches from concept through to commercialization.
- Product Quality: Ensure the conformance, quality, and food safety of products by actively participating in the development, testing, trial production, and startups of new and existing products
- Special Projects: Manage and coordinate special projects to ensure target label claims and statements are substantiated via third-party certifications, auditing, ingredient evaluations, etc
- Specification Development: Work and coordinate on the development of finished product specifications.
- Team Leadership: Manage and lead one or more Quality and Compliance Specialists as direct reports.
- BS/MS in food science, microbiology, environmental sciences, or business-related discipline preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of quality operations experience in manufacturing/packaging.
- Experience in protein production preferred.
- Knowledge of GMPs (21 CFR 117, 21 CFR 111), GFSI schemes, ISO, NSF, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; advanced skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- PCQI/HACCP Certification, GFSI familiarity (SQF practitioner preferred), ASQ or Lead Auditor training preferred.
- Strong business acumen and leadership skills.
- Comfortable around executive leadership; excellent conflict resolution skills.
- Self-starter with process management, organization, and tracking skills.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel, approximately 35% travel required.
