Job SummaryThe Center for Leadership is currently seeking a Student Assistant, Programs and Events The student assist will provide the Center staff with general support in executing program and event logistics as well as assist the Center's Directors with administrative support for recruitment and development initiatives
Essential Duties
Provide general administrative support to the Center's directors, including calendar management, special projects, and meeting preparation
Provide Program and Event Team in the support of:
- Completion of operational and logistical activities associated with Center programs, projects and events
- While programs and events are in session, assists coordinators with logistical details and client and faculty needs
- Preparation of program materials - copying, packaging, printing, etc
- Provide support in the creation of program documents
- Tabulation of data collection (evaluations) and organization of information
- Assist with maintenance of logs and data
Provide support for recruitment and development initiatives
- Prepares background documents, materials, and promotional materials for meetings
- Participate in leads follow up efforts, including making phone calls and sending emails to prospective clients
- Compiles information from various sources as needed and directed to acquire information and materials needed to support recruitment and development activities
- Provides project support to team as directed throughout including data entry, maintaining updated records, and contact information
Provide general office support for day-to-day operations
Performs other duties as needed or assigned
Adheres to Center for Leadership and University policies regarding attendance, punctuality, appropriate use of computer internet access and dress code for the office

Desired QualificationsProficient and comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel)
Prefer knowledge of specialized software programs, such as Salesforce
Strong verbal and communication skills to engage vendors and other internal or external clients effectively

Highly organized, proactive, energetic, self-motivated, positive attitude and team player without compromising professionalism
- Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.
- Student must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.
- Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.
Work Schedule
Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of the department.
