General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS) is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Sr Technician - 3rd Shift (Electromechanical Technician) to join our Lincoln, NE organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow. 

GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 60 years of expertise, GD-OTS designs, develops, manufactures, and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.

Major Position Responsibilities
  • Hands-on experience with control systems for Plant and Production Equipment.
  • Experience in low voltage power distribution, circuit protection and fuse replacement.
  • Experience in installation, setup and maintenance of control equipment including flow switches/meters, photo eyes, proximity switches, level transmitters/switches, DP cells, pressure, and temperature transmitters.
  • Maintain function and reliability of production and plant systems and associated equipment by executing a preventive maintenance program; Inspect electrical and automation systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Able to install EMT and rigid conduit.
  • Perform preventive/corrective maintenance and investigate problems with mechanical equipment (e.g., Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Electric Equipment) following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications, troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, rigging, and hand/power tools.
  • Provide feedback on equipment condition while performing preventive maintenance activities.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Troubleshoot and modify PLCs, controls, meters, and sensor hardware.
  • Guide and assist maintenance mechanics with equipment repairs.
  • Carry out daily maintenance activities and assigned work orders. Document progress and results.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards; works within site policies and procedures.
  • Effectively use safety equipment such as protective clothing, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain ongoing necessary/required training, certifications, and education.
  • Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls.
Basic Qualifications
  • 2-year technical degree in Electro-Mechanical or equivalent certification.
  • 0 to 2 years work experience (internship acceptable).
  • Combination of equivalent education and experience acceptable.
  • Proficiency with electrical and mechanical system troubleshooting with a working knowledge of AC and DC voltages and mechanical power transmission systems.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Effective written/oral communication skills and inter-personal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to work multiple shifts and overtime as required (including some weekends).
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
