Boston Government Services, LLC. (BGS) is seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Specialist/Auditor to perform Quality Assurance audits and related assessments in support of BGS's operations. This position is located at Oak Ridge, TN but can be a remote position for a well-qualified candidate.

This position will perform internal audits and surveillances of BGS project activities to verify program compliance, acceptable performance and effectiveness of the program. You will also perform external audits, surveillances, and commercial grade surveys to evaluate and verify a supplier's capability to provide items and services in accordance with BGS procurement document requirements. You will work independently and apply critical thinking skills necessary to draw and explain conclusions. You will also be expected to travel as necessary to support the audit schedule and project needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, perform and document QA audits, commercial grade surveys and surveillances.
  • Report adverse findings, evaluate corrective actions and assist in follow-up actions.
  • Write and review assessment plans, checklists, procedures and reports.
  • Interface with BGS and supplier management to communicate issues.
  • Support supplier qualification and approval activities.
  • Maintain and implement the BGS QA program and procedures.
  • Support problem prevention and continuous improvement utilizing the corrective action program.
  • Support and promote the BGS quality culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, quality assurance or a scientific discipline
  • 10+ years relevant nuclear power industry experience.
  • Proven QA auditing experience including performance of Lead Auditor duties.
  • Nuclear Quality Assurance - NQA-1-2015 or American National Standards Institute (ANSI) N45.2.23 Lead Auditor Certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:
    • Code of Federal Regulations - 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21.
    • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA-1
    • Pertinent Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Regulatory Guides Generic Communications.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills performing a wide range of assessments, including audits, surveillances, evaluations, commercial grade surveys, source verification and inspections.
  • Experience implementing or auditing commercial grade dedication program.
  • Experience specifying or reviewing procurement document technical & quality requirements.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards and nuclear industry guidance documents such as:
    • American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
    • Boiler and Pressure Vessel (B&PV) Code Section III.
    • International Organization for Standardization ISO 9001, ISO 17020, ISO 27001.
    • American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM).
    • Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
    • Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
    • National Emissions Inventory (NEI).
  • Practical understanding of engineering methods, design control, design related testing, analytical software qualification and acceptance.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Causal Analysis experience.

Location/Work Arrangement:

  • This position can be a Hybrid Work Arrangement in Oak Ridge, TN with some travel/onsite requirements, or this position has the potential to be a remote position with some travel/onsite requirements in Oak Ridge, TN.

Starting compensation for this role typically salary ranges between $120,000 and $150,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
