Job Summary:
  • The Maintenance Supervisor will have food manufacturing experience and be responsible for overseeing and coordinating 4 shift mechanics to maintain and repair equipment throughout the bakery. Maintenance Supervisors will execute Flow Wrapper and Bagger Maintenance and be able to perform electrical troubleshooting. This position requires attention to detail, mechanical ability, and the ability to multi-task. The Supervisor must be able to organize schedules and divide tasks and work orders amongst the shift crew based on the mechanic's individual knowledge, experience and skill set. Develops Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures, provides or coordinates on-going training and ensures development of the maintenance crew. Participates in selection, discipline and evaluation of department staff. Salary will be determined by experience, education, and skills test evaluation.
Shift: Day time business hours, occasional weekends Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assign work orders to crew based on mechanic's individual knowledge, experience and skill set.
  • Provide training to mechanics on the proper use of equipment and facilities when necessary.
  • Lead root cause analysis in a team environment to identify and resolve equipment issues and breakdowns in order to prevent recurrence of failures.
  • Complete mechanic performance reviews, set goals and develop training schedules as needed.
  • Understand and adhere to governmental regulatory programs and policies. These may include but are not limited to: National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC) and local government environmental agency policies.
  • Practice and comply with all bakery and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out-Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits.
  • Follow all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for Carolina Foods.
  • Understand and interpret technical documents and diagrams which include but are not limited to: equipment manuals, blueprints, schematics, Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), etc.
  • Inspect machines, develop repair lists and identify short-term and long-term repairs so that machines run correctly.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time including climbing, bending, stooping and kneeling in order to move and work around equipment. Ability to lift 20 to 50 pounds and work in an environment that has high temperatures, humidity, loud equipment and slippery surfaces. Education:
