Special Event Coordinator

Coordinate all interior layout and design planning aspects for corporate events, conventions, weddings, and other large-scale events, including many Islamic cultural events. Communicate with clients in English or Urdu, as applicable, to establish objectives and requirements of event. Determine cultural needs and constraints of clients and/or events and develop themes that align with religious and traditional values as applicable. Integrate cultural traditions, customs, and style into visual and physical design of event, including coordinating vendors, caterers, and venue to conform with Islamic dietary law. Coordinate vendors, décor, booths, displays, and other aspects of events connected with visual design and physical layout. Stay current with trends in Islamic design and events and incorporate into event décor where applicable. Design individualized floor plans to meet unique needs of each event, developing functional and efficient spatial arrangements. Incorporate prayer spaces into event layout as needed for each event consistent with Islamic religious principles. Coordinate all logistics of event, including timelines, schedules, set up, and budgeting. Build and maintain relationships with Islamic organizations and community leaders to establish presence in Islamic community. Utilize CAD software to generate precise layouts, translate design concepts into comprehensive 2D plans, or produce 3D renders as applicable. Must have Associate's degree in Meeting and Event Management, Communications, Interior Design, or related field. One (1) year of experience in event planning and interior design, including: collaborating with a design team on the design and layout of interior spaces, creating floorplans/layouts, balancing functional needs with aesthetic vision, conferring with clients/associates and establish project design vision, maintaining open lines of communication with project participants, managing expectations, and executing designs in conformance with clients' vision/requirements. One (1) year of experience rendering 3D models with Autodesk AutoCAD and SketchUp with V-Ray. Demonstrable knowledge creating and managing project budgets and timelines, communicating with vendors, coordinating vendor setup and breakdown, conceptualizing and executing event design aesthetic, designing layout for event spaces, optimizing efficient use of event spaces, arranging seating, and coordinating equipment use and setup. Experience with and knowledge of Islamic culture and religious traditions, including Islamic wedding traditions and dietary laws. Deep understanding of Islamic prayer rituals and customs.
