Summary
The Maintenance Planner holds a key position in the Plant Maintenance Department. The Maintenance Department is tasked with the responsibility to maintain equipment and facilities in conditions that promote improving equipment uptime, safe working condition and efficient plant operation. The Maintenance Planner works with plant associates, corporate engineering, contractors and OEMs to insure effective maintenance is planned, performed and documented.
The Maintenance Planner makes a direct contribution to important plant goals of increasing labor safety & productivity, reducing maintenance costs and improving equipment reliability. This is accomplished by preparing detailed job plans, coordinating key scheduling activities with other departments, ensuring work order data integrity, and ordering and managing spare parts inventories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Analyzes, plans and schedules VPP & safety related work orders, corrective, preventive, predictive and proactive maintenance activities utilizing CMMS, while coordinating daily with manufacturing and maintenance supervision.
- Prepares daily planned maintenance job packages, required task lists and spare parts kits.
- Performs work order tracking, reporting and maintenance of equipment history files in CMMS.
- Controls and optimizes maintenance spare parts ordering, stocking, issuing and inventorying.
- Works with OEMs, plant and engineering, maintenance associates and equipment manuals to insure proper maintenance tasks and spare parts are defined and entered into the CMMS.
- Supports root cause problem solving and analysis of maintenance costs, activities and trends.
- Supports development of new, and refinement of existing, Preventive Maintenance tasks and schedules.
- Leads supplier relations for vendor managed spare parts.
- Expert user of CMMS supporting maintenance associate training and use of the system.
- Performs related and/or additional duties as required.
- Determines engineering / contractor support.
- Coordinate daily and weekly maintenance planning meetings between Maintenance, Planning and Operations.
- Lead reliability centered activities.
