Leads Supply Chain Management efforts related to clinical products across UVA Health system including Medical Center, Ambulatory operations, Community Health hospitals, Surgery Centers and Monticello. Manager, Value Analysis provides primary staff support for on-going initiatives, proactive identification, and prioritization of cost savings efforts of the Value Analysis Committee’s (VACs) and UVA Health departments. The Value Analysis Manager is responsible for utilizing a standardized value analysis methodology which considers the impact of supply cost on DRG profitability by service line. The incumbent will work closely with the VAC Chairs, Service Line Leaders, and Contract Specialists, Analysts and Buyers in conducting evaluations/trials, managing the introduction/implementation of new supply or service, and conducting periodic audits to validate pricing, utilization, and projected cost increases/decreases. These activities are conducted while maintaining or improving the quality of care and safety provided to patients. Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships across multiple functional departments within the health system to drive standardization and cost reduction. Leads Standardization Teams to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives. Utilize all available tools to gain market knowledge and to access best pricing. Analyze product & equipment information and services with the goal of achieving the best value decision. Support the negotiation of pricing for products, equipment, and services. Utilize internal and external data to identify savings and standardization opportunities. Has proactive interaction with user-departments for improved cost management through Service Line Initiatives. Leads the implementation/conversion of supply contracts. Leads effort to coordinate with Supply Chain and Clinical staff in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies. Leads Standardization Teams to decrease product use variation and costs through the development of consensus supply utilization programs and initiatives. Provides supportive consultation and leadership to the UVAHS in the procurement and use of medical products and surgical supplies. Develops and leads cross-functional teams involved in the investigation and evaluation of new and/or existing medical/surgical products. Develops communication plans and product introduction plans to ensure a smooth introduction of new products into the. Maintains Product Roadmaps for key suppliers to ensure clinical staff have access to information on future clinical technologies. Acts as primary liaison between Supply Chain Management and the medical staff to communicate the issues of substitute supplies, vendor changes to existing medical supplies, and the introduction of new products. Assesses and validates that each product and/or procedure standardization process reaches successful completion and develops a reporting mechanism to track the achievement of annualized cost savings and compliance. Analyzes and communicates all opportunities for cost savings to the designated department, committee members, and/or manager. Coordinates with designated Value Management team members to follow the contract review process to assure contract compliance and to achieve the best possible cost. Assists Supply Chain Management team members in the identification of substitute products to ensure acceptable medical/surgical supplies throughout the system. Educates physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel to principles of inventory control and Supply Chain Management practices. Actively supports and participates in accomplishing the strategic goals of the Supply Chain Management Department and of UVA Health. Position Compensation Range: $89,523.20 - $143,228.80 Annual MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Masters of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program required. Experience: 5 years leadership and project management experience required. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
