Summary of Position:
In the role of Plant Controller, you will guide the financial decision-making process at the plant level by gathering, analyzing, managing, and presenting financial data. You will collaborate closely with the plant manager to make informed decisions that impact the financial outcomes of our facility.
Responsibilities
- Advise plant management team on all financial matters within KINA location.
- Prepare plant financial budgets and forecasts.
- Lead plant business process control efforts to ensure accurate financial results and protect company assets.
- Complete month-end CO close processes in SAP including journal entries, material movements, and material counts.
- Report monthly financial results and analyze variances to budget and forecast.
- Advise upon and provide financial control for plant continuous improvement and cost savings activities.
- Support plant and controlling team objectives.
- Establish accurate annual standard costs through review of costs, activities, BOMs, routings as necessary.
- Partner with plant management to provide proactive ideas and foresight into areas of plant performance that will support quality plant financial decision-making.
- Prepare requested ad-hoc reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous learning activities or trainings.
- Comply with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation' anticipating future legislation; enforce adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Protect operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
Experience:
- Minimum five (5) years’ of accounting experience, preferably in a plant/manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of an ERP system; SAP is preferred
- Computer skills in MS Office; proficient in Excel (advanced user), Word and PowerPoint
- Financial and mathematical skills
- Variance Analysis
- Budget and Forecast preparation, preferably in a plant/industrial manufacturing setting
- Business Process Controls
- Communication (verbal and written) across various levels of the organization
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities under limited supervision
- Ability and desire to work in a hands-on, industrial manufacturing and office environment
- Ability to travel approximately 5% of the time
- Time management and organizational skills
