Maintenance Supervisor Maintenance 2nd shift

PURPOSE
Supervises and coordinates activities with Manufacturing locations in maintaining, repairing, retiring, relocating and installing plant equipment. Gathers bids to outsource necessary work. Prioritizes repair/improvement issues and opportunities with approval from VP of Manufacturing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
All activities below must be coordinated with the local plant/location manager and/or have VP approval:
- Requisitions and issues tools, equipment, and supplies that are plant equipment related.
- Requisitions work from outside services or vendors for projects that require specific expertise or capabilities.
- Inspects work areas and production schedules to determine type of work, materials, equipment and labor requirements for completion of "equipment" "project".
- Inspects completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Operates equipment such as forklifts, crane, bulldozers and graders, and trains workers in equipment operation.
- Performs activities of workers supervised as needed.
- Reviews installation equipment orders or schedules to ascertain resources necessary to complete project on time.
- Plans and implements equipment and facility design upgrades and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises employees in the maintenance department of location when working onsite equipment project. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3-5 years of experience in a relevant lead role AND 5-10 years of maintenance experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Electrical Schematics knowledge
- Experience in working with 110V - 480V
- High level troubleshoot skills

- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Planning/Organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities; Uses time efficiently; Plans for additional resources; Sets goals and objectives; Organizes or schedules other people and their tasks; Develops realistic action plans.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills: Web/internet research on equipment specs and email outlook.
- Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must complete BFS safety training.
