What’s a typical day as a Production Shift Manager? You’ll be:
- Performs skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repairs of building components, production systems and equipment, and ancillary areas.
- Performs preventative, predictive, and proactive maintenance. Carries out the assigned daily, weekly, and monthly duties of the company preventative maintenance schedule.
- Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.
- Maintains company vehicle fleet and material handling equipment in an operational state of readiness.
- Install new equipment or machines needed for production or maintenance support.
- Monitors maintenance and safety activities to ensure activities are valued-added, efficient, and necessary; ensures personnel safety receives adequate attention.
- Prepare maintenance schedules, requirements, and standards; monitor contract maintenance and various facilities support service functions.
- Monitors effective pest management.
- Prepares and submits maintenance reports.
- Conducts routine maintenance and safety checks.
- Communicates with the production team.
- Maintains clean work area.
- Possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Statistics indicate a high degree of emphasis is placed on safety: safe work habits are developed in subordinates and followed by contract maintenance and vendor services personnel; a worker-friendly environment is always maintained; employee safety receives sustained attention and there are no accidents due to unsafe conditions.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment or related maintenance experience is required, familiarity with Safe Quality Food (SQF) quality standards would be beneficial. Able to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system breakdowns. Familiarity with PLC’s and Robotics a required. Comfortable presenting information in one-on-one settings and when communicating with team members.
- Ability to operate hand, power, and specialized tools to adjust, calibrate and fabricate parts for repairs, upgrades, and maintenance. Skilled in calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Experience with 480 Volt 3Phase electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Ability to perform Mig, Tig & Arc Welding to fabricate repairs Familiar with automated machinery adjustments.
- Must be well versed in the use of personal computers, Microsoft Windows and Office Professional software and understanding database and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) preferred.
- Ability to service and maintain equipment including motors, conveyor systems, and transmission systems. Ability to inspect and assess the functionality of production[1]related equipment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are preferred; Ability to work independently under general supervision; Availability to work a varied schedule as required. Possess good time management skills.
