Voyatek is seeking applicants to occupy the position of Expert Project Manager our NYS Information Technology Services Team located in Albany, NY. Key Responsibilities: Daily activities to include managing projects and guiding teams utilizing Project Management Life Cycle and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Managing multiple projects and/or multi-year projects that result in the successful implementation of complex information technology solutions. Creating and managing the project scope and the project management plan. Guiding resources and communication at different levels across multiple state agencies.
Manage project(s) over the full life cycle from origination through close out in accordance with the ITS PMO framework and project governance guidelines a. Resource allocation, estimating, and reporting b. Identify and maintain critical path and contingencies c. Utilize formal project change control process and communicate changes with all stakeholders d. Risk monitoring, control, and mitigation planning e. Support and guidance for resulting business process changes f. Planning and support during training and transition Guide project teams to implement a complex information technology solution Create and manage project documentation including but not limited to scope statement, schedule, budget, quality plan, risks, issues, and communication plan. Guide project team and its activities including; negotiating with senior management on resource allocations, project responsibilities and tasking Conduct regular status meetings to ensure stakeholder's expectations are met. Produce written project weekly and monthly status reports. Communicate project status to all levels of stakeholders including executives, sponsors, and management Facilitate project, sponsor, and executive level meetings Manage projects with 20 or more project participants.
Experience Required: 84+ months: Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
84 months of experience with fundamental project management processes, methodologies and tools & techniques and adapting them to organization. Must provide an explanation of the scope and timeframes of the projects you managed. 84 months experience as Project Manager for enterprise level initiatives that impact the entire organization 84 months experience in the creation of a project plan for an effort with milestones, deliverables, resource allocations and risk mitigation 84 months experience with multi-layered infrastructure remediation efforts 84 months experience in leading communication efforts for an implementation effort with internal and external stakeholder communication and outreach 12 months working with NYS agencies
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. This includes, but is not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and geographic location. At Voyatek, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
