Your Specific Responsibilities:

The Accountant I position is based at the Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County and reports directly to the Finance & Accounting Director I. The Accountant I will work with the Fiscal team and be primarily responsible to work on Accounts Payable, Bank Deposits, and Purchasing. This position is anticipated to work 40 hours per week at a bi-weekly rate of $1,750.00.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

An associate degree in business-related field or the 60 college level credits working toward a business degree is required.

Successfully passed Principles of Accounting/Introduction to Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Introduction to Business Finance/Principle of Finance courses is required.

Working knowledge of MS Excel is required.

A valid Florida driver's license is required.

Reliable transportation is required.

Preferred:

A bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, finance, or accounting.

Previous experience in Accounting or Bookkeeping or Budget.

Experience working for a State of Florida agency in a business role.

Experience in MFMP AOD, FIRS, and/or FLAIR systems.

Recognized certifications in accounting or finance.
