MOOG Space and Defense Senior QA Engineer
MOOG Space and Defense produces spaceflight hardware and software solutions, integrating vehicle design, component design and engineering services for aerospace, scientific, commercial, and military customers on four continents. Moog has partnered with NASA to provide electronic solutions for the Artemis Orion Crew Capsule, Viper Lunar Rover, Satellite Laser Communications Relay, OSIRIS-REX to study asteroid composition along with complete satellite buses for the defense department. Job Description The Senior QA Engineer will be responsible for quality engineering related functions from proposal stage to final delivery of the product. In this role the Senior QA Engineer own addressing QA contract requirements, managing suppliers, supporting product design and test, manage / support MRB's and FRB's, support customers queries, develop processes to support the AS9100 standard, ensure Moog Broad Reach processes are being followed, support QA responsibilities for non-conformances, MRP system data updates, managing build travelers, and continuous improvements of processes / procedures to ensure a quality product. Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or a similar technical or engineering discipline and a * Minimum of 5 years' experience in Aerospace or a Defense Contract environment. * Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality System. * Ability to develop and document new processes to support AS9100 Quality System and manage external audits. * Apply general knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principals (e.g. Six Sigma, Green Belt, Black Belt). * Collaborate with others and solves issues. * Facilitate and/or perform Root Cause investigations and determine Corrective/Preventive Action(s). Responsibilities * Prepare End Item Data Package (EIDP) reports, by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. * Own customer pre ship review's enabling a seamless shipment of product. * Working in accordance with deadlines for delivery of products. * Perform continuous improvements to Moog Broad Reach Quality Management System * Develop and implement proactive quality methodologies to transform the workspace from a reactionary organization to a proactive organization. * Analyze process problems situations by reviewing facts and creating solutions using operational and engineering guidelines, procedures, regulations, industry standards, and past successes. * Manage / Support FRB's (Failure Review Board), MRB's (Material Review Board) to address non-conformance, manage customer queries, generate non-conformances documentation, analyze non-conforming data, and determine corrective actions. * Monitor quality performance data used to track progress to goals and to guide root cause corrective action (RCCA); partner with other departments and assist each team with actions to increase performance improvements. * Provide operational/manufacturing support and monitor assembly process control. * Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing business priorities. * Manage suppliers including supplier assessments. * Working knowledge of ESD protocols and processors. * Prior working knowledge of TIPQA or similar tool to manage non-conformances, suppliers, and quality clauses. * Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to coach and guide others in a collaborative partnership Minimum Requirements: Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an Electrical Engineering or an equivalent engineering field. Prior experience working in Aerospace or Defense industry in an engineering or quality assurance role. Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and instructions. Strong experience of industry standards such as lean and AS9100. Have worked in an electronics lab environment and understand all the protocols for handling electronic hardware and test equipment such as ESD and FOD. Had previous exposure on handling product or process non-conformances. Worked in process-oriented environments that deal with mission critical products. Salary Range Transparency: Phoenix, AZ $90,000.00-$125,000.00 Annually
