The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of data projects that support the company's goals and strategic initiatives, as well as for building and modernizing the data engineering infrastructure to enable the ingestion, integration, modeling, and transformation of datasets at scale. This role requires a leader with a strong background in data technologies, a proven track record in data strategy, and the ability to mentor and grow a world-class team of data and platform engineers. The VP will also be accountable for ensuring the security, quality, and accessibility of data, and for driving the technical data strategy in alignment with the SVP of Data Analytics. Applicants for the VP of Data Engineering position at the company should have at least 15 years of experience in a pivotal data leadership role, with a focus on leading a comprehensive data strategy and managing large data engineering organizations. The role demands a leader with deep experience in modern data technologies, cloud-based technology, and a strong background in data governance, quality, and security. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to scale data and engineering organizations, recruit and develop top talent, and build infrastructure and data science tools to solve complex business problems. Experience in consumer or retail technologies is strongly preferred, and a background in agile environments and leading urgent support teams is a plus.
