Pay: Commensurate with experience

Work Schedule: Typically Monday Friday, 8am 5pm. Additional hours may be needed as required by the project. Work is performed onsite and in-person.

Export Compliance Requirement: This position requires access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies. Applicants are required to be eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws and must meet the requirement of being a U.S. Citizen.

Job Details

In this position, the ideal candidate will be comfortable outlining and planning all aspects of work related to a given program such as budget, timelines and teams. They will have strong communication skills that enable them to effectively communicate with all relevant teams. This individual should be able to foresee any problems related to the completion of a program and act in a timely manner to mitigate any issues. Research programs will range from moderately complex projects to large highly complex programs with high programmatic risk.

Job Summary

Utilizes industry standard project management tools and techniques, and earned value management, to effectively manage the Integrated Management System (IMS), risk issues & opportunities (RIO), project budget performance, and earned value performance to ensure scope, schedule, budget, contractual, and technical requirements are achieved. Works independently and in conjunction with the project team for multiple medium to large highly complex research programs from proposal pursuit through project completion, ensuring compliance with all program requirements.

Essential Functions

Partners with the Principal Investigator (PI) and project team to develop, maintain, and manage project schedules and budgets for multiple medium to large highly complex research programs, from proposal pursuit through project completion, and ensures compliance with all program requirements Coordinates and leads project team meetings and maintains detailed project documentation including meeting minutes, action items, issues lists and risk management plans Provides timely and effective project status reporting regarding milestones, cost, schedule, deliverable, dependencies, and risks, opportunities and issues Assists in development and submission of required technical and financial progress reports Analyzes financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation Assists with establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving standard project management best practices, templates, procedures, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature these capabilities for enterprise-wide application Acts as an internal quality and compliance control check for assigned projects; performs audit checks as required and assists with training Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans Completes, participates, and leads special projects as assigned

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor\'s degree Finance, Project Management, Business, Management, or related field

Five (5) years of project management, and/or relevant experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong business acumen with thorough understanding of standard project management process (PMI)\ Excellent leadership skills with ability to lead integrated project teams and work with multiple disciplines within the organization (project engineering, finance, operations, etc.)\ Excellent analytical skills with ability to understand, manage, and communicate project cost, schedule, contractual, technical performance and project constraints\ Excellent organizational, and ve bal and written communication skills\ Proficient with Microsoft Project and MS Office suite\ Security Clearance, preferred

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
