Overview
The Senior Corporate Accountant will contribute to the monthly closing process through the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, coordination of expense review with FP&A in addition to performing other monthly closing functions. In addition, the Senior Corporate Accountant will participate in quarterly and annual external reporting processes, as requested. This is a hybrid role based out of Indianapolis, with 2-3 days / week in-office. Responsibilities
Holding responsibility for certain areas of monthly close process including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts..
Coordinating with FP&A on the analysis of SG&A costs including development of trends and comparison to budgeted/forecasted expenditures. Coordinating the monthly EGSI review as part of the monthly close process with FP&A including expense review, accruals, invoice review and shipment information. Assist with monthly lease accounting including in lease updates, journal entries for interest, depreciation, and account reconciliations. Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-to-date RMS consolidated balance sheet flux review for senior management and auditors including (accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, and prepaid expenses detail analyses). Preparation of quarterly bad debt and credit memo reserve analyses across all RMS legal entities, including coordinating with Shared Services on customer collection issues. Assisting in the process of intercompany charges (management fees, insurance, royalties, interest, etc.) and reconciliation of intercompany accounts. Assisting with auditor requests and supporting documentation for quarterly review and annual audit. Driving process improvement via the review, maintenance and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. Completing and/or assist with ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. 5-10 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of US GAAP. Expertise in Excel, Proficiency in all other MS Office. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to build strong relationships with both external and internal customers "Self-starter" that needs little guidance to initiate and move forward with work Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Actively seeks opportunity to develop own skills and knowledge Gives practical support and assistance to enable individuals to get the job done Discusses process improvement opportunities within own department and across other areas Demonstrates effective use of time and resources Routinely meets agreed deadlines Builds rapport to influence message, acceptance and understanding Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities: CPA, or ability to obtain. Experience in an integrated accounting system - JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc. *This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
