Do you have extensive experience with all things Cisco? Founders is searching for a dynamic Cisco professional to join our IT team as a Unified Communications Architect. This position is located on site at our Corporate Headquarters in Lancaster, SC. Remote work is not available.
The Unified Communications Architect responsibilities include management, configuration and maintenance of our Cisco Voice over IP (VoIP) systems. Responsibilities include the design, implementation, troubleshooting, and day-to-day operation of Cisco Unified Communications infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and quality of service (QoS) for voice services.
This position is also responsible for assisting with support of other voice related systems. In addition to these duties, this position will also be a resource for the administration of other collaboration products such as Webex and Microsoft Teams meetings.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Administer and maintain Cisco VoIP infrastructure, including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center (UCCX), and related applications.
Perform regular updates, patches, and upgrades to Cisco VoIP components to ensure security and optimal system performance.
Develop and maintain enhanced UCCX scripts and system configurations for all contact centers within the Credit Union. This will include API Integration with existing applications as well as creating innovative ways to improve employee and member experiences within these products.
Practice adherence to change management processes, incident response, and testing methodologies for modifications to systems and software. Including anticipating, mitigating, identifying, troubleshooting and resolving operational issues and security vulnerabilities within systems and software.
Design and maintain complex dial plans, call routing schemes, Cisco CUBEs and voice gateways to ensure seamless communication.
Manage system capacity, ensuring optimal performance and scalability as the organization grows.
Continuously monitor the Cisco VoIP system for performance issues and service outages, troubleshoot issues related to call quality, dropped calls, and hardware failures.
Create and maintain detailed documentation and topologies as required for Founders voice communications and related systems.
Provide assistance to On-Call staff as needed after hours, which includes resolving branch network and communications issues.
Participate in Disaster Recovery planning and testing of telecommunication services. Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery plan for Cisco VoIP systems.
Design, plan, and deploy new VoIP solutions, including system upgrades and expansions, ensuring integration with network infrastructure.
Provide technical support to users and departments, troubleshooting issues related to Cisco IP phones, Cisco Finesse, and other VoIP tools. Conduct user training as necessary.
Provide Founders FIT CUSO support as required to promote client services and development of IT programs.
Comply with Founders’ policies and procedures, as well applicable laws, regulations, and statutes issued by federal agencies such as NCUA and FFIEC, including, but not limited to, GLB and BSA. Employees have legal and regulatory obligations to respect and protect the privacy of information and its integrity and confidentiality.

Job Specifications:
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or technical school, 10+ year’s related experience in Voice Over IP support, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Maintain an active membership in FS-ISAC (Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis member) or ISO22301 Business Continuity Management and obtain certifications within four years for: Cisco CCNA Voice or comparable certification.
The Unified Communications Architect must possess excellent oral and communication skills, including the ability to understand, explain, and draft technical details. Employee should have skills necessary to perform day-to-day administration of Cisco Unified Communications Manager and related applications such as Contact Center Express and Calabrio ONE. Hands-on experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, Cisco Call Manager, Cisco CUBE, Cisco IOS-XE and Cisco Voice Gateways. Strong understanding of VoIP protocols such as SIP, H.323, and MGCP. Knowledge of network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds). 3-5 years of experience managing Cisco VoIP systems, particularly Cisco Unified Communications solutions.
