Apply Now!• The primary purpose of this position is to provide Customer Service, technical training, FIAR audit assistance, and operational assistance on multiple systems (ATAAPS, DCPS, CRIS, DTS) for civilians, timekeepers, and organizations associated with delivering financial services in a joint base environment for JBER civilian personnel. To examine, verify, and maintain routine to complex accounting transactions which involve a number of different programs, extensive subdivision of accounts, and frequent and varied adjustments to accounts. Primary installation actor for the Disbursing Officer, located at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Denver per DoDFMR Volume 5.

• Duties:

• Provides general training, technical assistance, financial services and analysis, and dispersing on multiple systems while identifying and solving problems by developing methods and processes. Serves as ATAAPS Superuser.

• Receives and examines complex financial processes and source documents to direct Financial Audit Readiness of civilian pay procedures. Validates Financial Audit Readiness (FIAR) of civilian pay procedures through review of source and supporting pay authorization documents for propriety, authentication, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and precedents.

• Provides customer service and performs miscellaneous duties in support of FMF functions in person or by telephone, and completes correspondence (e.g., answers written inquiries, prepares letters to obtain missing information, etc.) related to civilian pay providing direct customer service support to wing and tenant personnel.

• Performs duties as Deputy Disbursing Officer (DDO). Primary installation actor for and in the name of the Disbursing Officer located at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) Denver IAW DoDFMR Volume 5 and Treasury Financial Manual Volume I. Provides technical supervision to cashiers to include initial advance of funds and daily review of collection and disbursement vouchers during end of day balancing.

• Qualifications/Requirements:

• US Citizenship

• 1-2 years’ previous Air Force accounting or budget and current Defense Enterprise and Accounting is highly desired.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

• Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.

• To be considered qualified resumes must reflect knowledge and experience in the following areas:

• Knowledge of a body of complicated civilian pay/leave and disbursing rules, regulations, laws, allowances, and procedures; and the data system(s) used to support civilian pay and disbursing actions.

• Skill in performing arithmetic computations common to a payroll function.

• Ability to compile, research, reconcile, and record financial data, analyze records and reports, and take corrective action.

• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service.

• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

• Skill in preparing financial and administrative reports for assignment programs and projects.

• Skill in monitoring and evaluating financial data and in developing and analyzing common trend lines.

• Ability to use computer operations, electronic communications, spreadsheet analysis, and database creation and utilization.
