Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Architectural/Building Design Project Manager based in Houston,Dallas or Austin, TX to lead and execute interdisciplinary building design projects with a focus on Science & Technology, industrial and logistics projects in a collaborative and design-focused environment. The role will be responsible for managing the scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration. Responsible for planning and managing project staffing requirements, reporting project performance, and identifying and addressing scope creep, schedule, or quality issues to ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects.
Job Summary/Responsibilities
Acting as a primary point of contact with the client
Working with interdisciplinary technical leads to coordinate successful execution of projects in design and construction
Reviewing contracts, preparing fee proposals and project execution strategies
Managing and leading technical, financial, and client satisfaction areas using established processes and tools
Managing sub-consultant scope, fees, deliverables, and performance
Leading the team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within the scope and budget
Managing changes to the project scope, schedule and costs
Reporting and escalating project issues to management as needed
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or engineering (mechanical/HVAC or structural) plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Professional licensure (RA, PE)
Preferred Qualifications:
10 + years of related experience in the industry
Master’s degree preferred
Leadership experience, including managing client expectations, multi-disciplinary teams, and meeting scope/schedule/budget
Detail-oriented, methodical, meticulous, process-oriented, yet open to changes and motivated by innovation
Advanced knowledge of planning and design process, construction documentation, construction administration, and code requirements
Experience managing concurrent projects in various stages of development and managing multiple project types with an emphasis on design, sustainability, and innovation
Innovative problem solver with excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills and a proven ability to manage people and projects through strong demonstrated organizational skills
Strong skills in the full suite of MS Office applications
Participate in selected marketing and business development opportunities in support of the sales team
Develop and maintain excellent relationships with existing and potential clients
Be a great collaborator and communicator
Ambitious self-starter with a get-it-done attitude who strives for excellence

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $140,000.00.
