Overview
This is a full-time role for a mid-to-upper-level
Restoration Practitioner/Project Manager
at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. working within our Ecological Practice. This exciting position involves working directly with the Restoration Principal to collaboratively manage innovative stream, wetland, habitat, and vegetation restoration projects. At CEC, we utilize several design tools including natural channel design, nature-based solutions, form-based, and process-based projects. In this role you will also serve as a mentor to junior staff and educate them on field data collection, developing design parameters, and implementation working directly with contractors. This position will also be responsible for business development, having flexibility to travel and recruit new clients and projects across the United States You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our offices and gain experience in new geographic regions! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in fluvial geomorphology, sediment transport, stream and wetland ecology, and/or natural channel design. CEC is different than most consulting firms. Our ecologists have the same career path as the rest of the company. Qualifications
Attention to detail and ability to review engineering plan sets;
Ability to lead a cohesive group of ecological restoration practitioners (surveyors, stream designers, civil engineers, and designers) across multiple offices with multiple communication styles; Experience working with junior staff to process, analyze, and utilize geomorphic data for Civil 3D design; and Experience preparing and revising stream and wetland restoration plan sets supporting engineering design, permitting applications, construction plans, and as-built documentation. Field survey/monitoring: Proficiency with field-based geomorphic assessment techniques. Experience performing construction quality assurance, inspection, and oversight during the construction of stream and wetland projects. Ability and willingness to travel occasionally, typically within the region, to project/client sites to complete tasks or attend meetings. Ability to work outside (sometimes in inclement weather conditions), navigate on uneven terrain, and carry equipment weighing up to approximately 15lbs in the field.
