For over 100 years, the Dumb Friends League has been working to end pet homelessness and animal suffering by providing a strong and steadfast voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Purpose of Position:
Supports digital marketing and brand awareness efforts through content creation, marketing, and online presence to promote and enhance the Dumb Friends League mission, organizational goals and brand in the community. The Digital Content Creator will be the internal content liaison for all League programs, services and locations.
Responsibilities
Spearhead story and asset collection and assist with story follow-up and development Work with multiple departments across all shelter locations to collect quality content for sharing the mission and work of the organization with our community Identify opportunities to expand stories for web thoughtfully and creatively through impactful visuals, including photo, video, and graphics Assist with developing timely internal stories to align with overall marketing strategies and inform external communication strategy Write copy for digital advertisements, web content, and other League marketing collateral as needed Optimize copy and landing pages for search engine marketing and perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimization Execute tests, collect and analyze data and results, identify trends and insights to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns Assist with updating organizational website content as needed Serve as an intermediary between Marketing & Communications and Development to provide a marketing voice, look and feel for Development-related communications, including emails, direct mail, reports, etc. as needed. Works in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager on managing the Google Ad Grant Collaborate with designers, videographers, and other team members to create high-quality content Assist with developing content that aligns with specific objectives, target audiences, and campaigns according to specifications Produce short-form and long-form copy for varied uses, including snippets for social media, longer-form content, and service page content alongside promotional content used in email campaigns Conduct keyword research and use current SEO guidelines to optimize content Measure web traffic to content (e.g. conversion and bounce rates) People Care

(starting pay commensurate with market, experience, and equity)
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motion. May work in an area with high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander, and feces. Occasional lifting with reasonable accommodation.

Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Excellent writing and editing skills in English Familiarity with SEO and website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics) Knowledge of content management systems (e.g., Word Press) and the ability to create content to tight schedules and according to ad hoc requirements Knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms Up to date on the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM Time-management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office programs Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or related field, or equivalent experience Work Experience: Three years of experience in related marketing field[LH5] including experience with optimizing content for SEO usage and editing user-generated content Desired
Bilingual fluency in both English and Spanish
