HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
The essential duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Dean, Administrative are the following:
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Provide oversight of strategic plan implementation. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that align with the organization's mission and vision. Collaborate with the dean to identify and prioritize strategic goals and objectives to advance the vision of the college. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives and plans, providing regular updates and recommendations for improvement. Supports, documents, and encourages the adoption of innovative academic and outreach initiatives that enhance student success.
Operational Management:
- Evaluate operations of the college to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in meeting college and institutional goals. Streamline processes and systems to enhance operational performance and resource utilization. Manage budgets related to strategic projects and operational activities, ensuring financial sustainability. Assists with the execution of dean's events to ensure operational excellence. Collaborate with teams to ensure policies and procedures align with practice. Manage and coordinate special projects for the Office of the Dean.
Student Success:
- Coordinate all programs and services aimed at improving student engagement, retention, and success. Monitor, evaluate, and report on college-wide student-related initiatives (i.e., CORE, IMPACTS, Dual Enrollment, etc.) in collaboration with appropriate staff as warranted. Develop innovative student experiences to facilitate student belonging as it relates to retention and progression to graduation. Analyze student performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Work with campus partners (advising, student support, engagement) to address student needs and foster a supportive learning environment.
Leadership and Collaborations:
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of strategic projects and operational improvements. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability within the organization. Serve as a key liaison between units to ensure alignment and effective communication on behalf of the dean. Seeking opportunities for funding strategic initiatives in collaboration with team leads.
Assessment and Reporting:
- Develop metrics and KPIs to assess the impact of all strategic initiatives and operational changes. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for college leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations to achieve strategic goals. Synthesize relevant research, best practices, etc. as it relates to students, faculty, and staff and make recommendations as applicable.
Professional Development:
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to strategic planning, operations, and student success. Lead and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Other:
- Performs other duties as assigned by the dean
Qualifications
:Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience, or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications:
- An earned a doctoral degree in Higher Education or a related field.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in higher education, preferably in the two-year sector.
- Certifications in project management or strategic planning.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic planning, operations management, and/or student success programs in a college or university setting.
- Demonstrated experience in leading complex projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and act on data.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of faculty, staff, and students.
- Experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
