Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This role is a permanent position, offering a unique opportunity to work with a rapidly growing organization that specializes in food manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in consolidations and will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of the company. The Senior Accounting Manager will report directly to the CFO and Controller and will play a pivotal role in financial decision-making processes.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accounting Manager, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
2. Ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of all accounting tasks, including financial statements and reporting.
3. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
4. Managing and overseeing the monthly and yearly close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
5. Ensuring compliance with all internal and external audit requirements.
6. Developing and maintaining financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
7. Reviewing all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, and corporate/overhead cost allocation.
8. Enhancing and implementing financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
9. Serving as a key point of contact for external auditors; managing preparation and support of all external audits.
10. Collaborating with the CFO and Controller to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control current processes which impact customer quality and influence financial operating results.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience with consolidations.
4. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. High level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
7. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
10. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
