Overview:
The Sioux Falls Canaries are offering a full-time internship for motivated students eager to gain hands-on experience in independent baseball. This unique opportunity allows you to work behind the scenes with a professional sports organization with the American Association of Professional Baseball, an MLB partner league. Throughout this seasonal, full-time position you'll support our mission to provide a first-class experience and deliver exceptional guest service while supporting our marketing and media efforts.
Position Summary:
As the Multimedia Intern, you will join the Sioux Falls Canaries for a dynamic summer, gaining behind-the-scenes experience in professional baseball media operations. The primary roles of this internship are photography and videography. This role will also assist with in-game content creation and social media management. Ideal candidates are proficient in photography and videography, creative, strong communicators, and adaptable to the fast-paced environment of a baseball season. This is a full-time, paid position beginning May 5th until the end of the Canaries season (mid-September) and will report to the Director of Game Experience and Internal Media Relations.
Key Responsibilities: Video Production: Edit and produce highlight reels, sponsored in-game content, and recap videos to promote upcoming games and events. Photography: Capture high quality photos of in-game activities on and off the field. Graphic Design: Create promotional graphics and digital content for use on team websites and social media platforms, ensuring a cohesive look and feel. Content Creation: Produce engaging social media graphics and videos that capture the spirit of the Canaries, including game announcements, promotional events, and highlights from home games. Event Coverage: Attend and document all home games and special events through photography and videography, showcasing players, fans, and the overall stadium atmosphere. Social Media Management: Assist in growing the Canaries' social media presence by posting content, promoting upcoming games, and engaging with fans across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.). Community Engagement: Capture content from community events to highlight the Canaries' involvement in Sioux Falls. Additional Duties: Support the marketing and media team with various tasks as assigned. Qualifications :
Proficiency in sports photography and video production required. Proficiency in graphic design and editing software required Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and organized. Familiarity with social media platforms and trends. Creativity and a passion for sports.
