The Raymond G. Murphy VA Health Care System (NMVAHCS) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Board Certified / Board Eligible Anesthesiologist Physician to join our team in delivering high-quality care to our nation s Veterans. Schedule:
* VA Business Hours : Monday through Thursday 06:30-1500 and Friday 07:30-1630 May require in hour and night shift on occasion.
* Clinic or OR Schedule : Varies
* Contractor s physician(s) shall be available and present in clinic during normal facility clinic hours, which will be established, and may be revised, as deemed appropriate for patient care by the Chief of Currently.
* Normal clinic hours are Monday through Thursday . And Friday

Basic Qualifications:
* Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Anesthesiology
* BLS and ACLS certified
* Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
* Shall have a current license to practice medicine in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia when services are performed onsite on VA property.
* All licenses held by the key personnel working on this contract shall be full and unrestricted licenses. Physician(s) who have current, full and unrestricted licenses in one or more states, but who have, or ever had, a license restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily revoked, voluntarily surrendered pending action or denied upon application will not be considered for the purposes of this contract.
* DEA Certificate: shall be current
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient-centered care.
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with colleagues in a dynamic healthcare environment.
* Experience working with diverse patient populations, including Veterans, is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide general and specialized anesthesia services, including pre-operative evaluations, intraoperative monitoring, and post-operative care.
* Perform anesthesia for a wide range of surgical specialties, including but not limited to general surgery, orthopedics, urology, and vascular surgery.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of patients undergoing anesthesia procedures, closely monitoring vital signs and adjusting anesthesia levels as needed.
* Collaborate with surgical teams, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
* Participate in educational activities, training residents and medical students, and providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental policies, practices, and protocols.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with VA policies and medical standards.
* Adhere to all relevant regulations and VA policies while maintaining a compassionate and professional demeanor.
