Sr CNC Programmer

Primary Purpose of this Job The primary purpose of this job is to develop machine programs for lathes with up to 5 axis while collaborating with cross-functional teams comprised of machinists/operators, manufacturing engineers, production supervisors, supply chain representatives, quality engineers/inspectors, and operations/program management to support program schedule & performance goals, mitigate manufacturing risks, and improve operational efficiency. Responsibilities Develop machining strategies to take designs and produce machined hardware Develop CNC Programs, create, modify, and optimize CNC programs for various machining processes, including milling, turning, and multi-axis machining centers. Tooling & Fixture Selection, work closely with the engineering team to select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting parameters to ensure the efficient and accurate production of parts. · Assist machinists with the setup and troubleshooting of CNC machines, ensuring programs are run as intended and resolve any issues that arise during the machining process. · Develop manufacturing plans for high-volume production Design custom tools and fixtures as needed Develop set-up sheets to show alignment of geometry from CNC program to physical workpiece. Identify, select, and procure appropriate tooling for job specific applications (based on part material, geometry, features, tolerances, system rigidity, and equipment capability). Releasing programs to the production team that have been validated Own process improvement opportunities (reduced machining/setup time, improved part quality) Maintain configuration control of files and job records Qualifications Min 5 years working with programming CNC Min 5 years working with Mazak machines Min 7 years working within a manufacturing environment Knowledge of metal alloys and usage within consumer and industrial products Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Skilled in: · Machining principles and GD&T · Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams · Strong ability to operate machines, read instructions and apply appropriate procedures · Programming processes in Mastercam 2024
