Job Details:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Unit Controller to join our dynamic team. You will play a pivotal role in managing the financial health of our business unit. You will be responsible for overseeing and directing all aspects of financial activities, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, balance sheet, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and billing.

As a Business Unit Controller, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
1. Overseeing and managing all financial activities within the business unit, including financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, balance sheet, and job costing.
2. Conducting variance analysis to understand the difference between planned and actual performance and making recommendations for improvements.
3. Preparing, managing, and controlling the unit's budget and forecasts, ensuring all financial targets are met or exceeded.
4. Ensuring accurate job costing and billing for all projects within the business unit, including HVAC and plumbing.
5. Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
6. Providing financial leadership and guidance to operational teams, assisting them in understanding financial reports and data, and helping them make informed business decisions.
7. Collaborating with senior management to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and business growth.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Business Unit Controller role should possess the following qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction, HVAC, or plumbing industry.
3. In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, balance sheet, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, job costing, and billing.
4. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
6. Proficiency in using financial software and systems.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.
8. Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
9. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
