Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking a highly motivated and detailed-oriented individual to join the Corporate Treasury Capital Management team, which is responsible for managing, forecasting, and reporting the capital adequacy of U.S. Bancorp and its related subsidiaries in normal operating conditions as well as under stress. The team sits within Corporate Treasury, but individuals work in close partnership with multiple teams (e.g., Risk, Regulatory Reporting, the Business Line, and other Finance and Treasury functions). This role is responsible for the monthly risk weighted asset (“RWA”) forecast process, annual stress test, and corresponding analysis and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Partner with multiple teams and business lines for financial analysis and RWA forecasting in normal operating conditions and within capital stress testing exercises.
Develop and maintain spreadsheets for RWA forecasting and financial analysis, with proper controls, in compliance with the bank’s 2nd line and 3rd line defenses control requirements, and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Update the RWA forecast process and spreadsheets, as applicable, for changes in the proposed and/or finalized Basel III capital framework. Perform impact analysis for methodology, rule, and/or other production changes.
Using the forecast process and spreadsheet, produce forecasting deliverables and develop proforma financial reporting for review by senior management.
Perform trend analysis and variance analysis related to RWA forecasting and stress test, and provide insights for stakeholders and senior management. Communication is done both verbally and through creation of various reports to illustrate key information.
Partner with Risk Management, Line of Business and Regulatory Reporting Team to identify and remediate data quality issues, as necessary.
Maintain Procedure documents for the production process. Maintain Implementation guidance documents detailing the data, associated regulatory rule implementation for RWA calculation and reporting.
Provide requisite data files and documents to the bank’s 2nd line and 3rd line defenses for review, and walk through the RWA Forecast Tools with the control team as requested.
Basic Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with multiple teams.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related discipline.
Typically 6 or more years of related experience treasury, financial or regulatory reporting experience.
Preferred Skills / Experience
Experience at a large financial institution, and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Advanced knowledge of forecasting and financial analysis techniques.
Strong mathematical, analytical, and data management skills. Ability to prioritize deadlines while maintaining a high attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and process improvement experience with various spreadsheets and reporting.
Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase is a plus.
