About the Opportunity
The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has an immediate opening for a Financial Analyst, Associate to Intermediate to work in our Third-Party Financial Review team.
In this position, you will conduct research and analysis to identify and assess the financial risks associated with existing and potential third-party suppliers to the Federal Reserve System. You will provide guidance in identifying, evaluating, and developing related processes and procedures that are effective and meet requirements. This position plans and executes solutions and may provide consultation to clients, colleagues, and management. You will participate in cross-functional linked teams to address financial or system issues. You will determine best practices and suggests how to improve current practices.
What You Will Do:
Perform analyses of third-party financial data including, but limited to, evaluation of income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow to identify potential threats to the third-party’s financial health and viability.
Research and evaluate other non-financial information including industry trends and economic indicators to help inform analyses of overall inherent risk associate with the third-party.
Perform moderately complex analyses of other financial data including projections, assumptions, and/or trend and variance analyses.
Prepare financial risk reports that clearly communicate results of analysis to internal stakeholders, as well as provide additional insight when needed.
Create and maintain related third-party financial risk management procedures for the organization.
Where appropriate, partner with stakeholders to develop risk mitigation strategies that minimize exposure to third-party risk.
Assist in the development and design of new financial processes and updating existing financial processes.
Contribute to and participate in financial process improvement and solution discussions and may present outcomes in written and verbal format to management.
Serve as a liaison and/or technical resource on related matters.
Participate in cross-functional team initiatives and financial process improvement projects.
Collaborate with Procurement, Vendor Management, Risk Management and other related functions across the Federal Reserve System.
Qualifications:
1 to 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Strong business and financial acumen.
Excellent analytical ability.
Critical thinking skills with the ability to independently solve problems with data.
Acute attention to detail with a high degree of data accuracy and integrity.
Strong oral and written communication.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with people at all levels of the organization.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet daily deadlines.
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint along with various other online applications, as needed for the role.

The hiring range of the Financial Analyst - Intermediate is $67,200 – $92,400 annually.
The hiring range of the Financial Analyst - Associate is $55,600 – $76,450 annually.
Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
The Fifth District provides a hybrid work environment. This position is required to be onsite on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week.
