Job Description
Kalman & Company is seeking an experienced cleared Integrated Master Scheduler recognized as an MS Project subject matter expert. Communicates with parties within and outside of own job function, and typically has responsibilities for communicating with parties external to the organization. Makes moderate to significant process improvements. Address and resolve numerous, potentially undefined, problems impacting multiple functions or departments across the organization. This will be a highly motivated, performance driven individual with experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) projects to work closely with our Government clients and spend 50% of their time onsite in Quantico, VA and the other time spent at our operations office in Stafford, VA. Successful candidates will utilize change and schedule management expertise to effectively manage and monitor various DoD acquisition programs and be responsible for communicating with multi-functional teams to drive deliverables to completion.

As a Kalman Analyst, you will work with military leaders, engineers, developers, technicians, logisticians, and financial managers to collect, analyze, and communicate information that will help ensure the success of programs that are critical to the United States DoD and our allies. You will work individually and as a team to help solve continuously evolving challenges across multiple academic domains and industries.
Specific Duties
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all program activities related to scheduling and provide expertise in the development and upkeep of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), which will be maintained in Microsoft Project
- Follow best practices in scheduling processes and protocols to ensure vertically and horizontally integrated schedules and scheduling products.
- Integrate the Program Schedule with an Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and other program performance reporting and data systems.
- Apply the appropriate methods, tools, and techniques to work requirements and assure that work products meet quality standards.
- Work closely with technical experts, project leads, and project managers in planning, creating, and managing time-phased project schedules.
- Make recommendations regarding process control, subcontract integration, mitigation of schedule risk, assignment coordination, task logic, and activity duration.
- Create custom project views and reports as requested by Government clients.
- Coordinate with program/project teams to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for incorporation into the IMS and identify level of effort required to support appropriate resource loading/planning activities.
- Develop, document, and implement a consistent scheduling methodology.
- Provide weekly updates on active project status.
- Proactively identify and incorporate program management priorities into the master schedule and provide recommendations on how to reduce risk.
- Provide impact analysis on how requirement/priority changes effect the program schedule/critical path.
- Actively participate in program/project meetings to provide direction and guidance on schedule activities.
- Provide input to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports regarding the schedule baseline, performance against the schedule, and associated schedule risks/mitigations.
- Conduct evaluations of program schedules, comparing the schedule baseline to actual performance
Required Education/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in engineering, science, math, business administration, or humanities
- US Citizenship
- Active Secret Security Clearance
- Five or more years of experience managing large IMSs in Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar scheduling software for DoD acquisition programs.
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Understanding of how to incorporate agile methodologies and scrum frameworks into the IMS.
- Ability to effectively communicate with Project Managers, Control Account Managers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Education/Qualifications:
- Scrum Certification
- Industry certifications in schedule development and management: PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), PMI Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- DoD Acquisition Category (ACAT) I program experience.
- Direct experience with DoD/Navy/Marine Corps
