Position Summary:

Campbell University School of Law is seeking a dedicated, full-time Faculty Administrative Assistant with a strong spirit of service to join our collegial team. This role focuses on supporting the law faculty with crucial administrative tasks to promote the smooth functioning of academic activities, including managing calendars, coordinating travel for student competitions, maintaining and organizing certain faculty and student files, and generally assisting with events and other day-to-day operations in cooperation with law faculty and staff. The ideal candidate will bring a positive, service-oriented approach to work, while demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and courtesy, and an ability to cooperate as a member of a team of faculty and staff who deliver an exceptional legal education to bright and motivated students on a daily basis. This is a full-time position, on-campus, at the law school, in downtown Raleigh, NC. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, though evening or weekend hours may be required occasionally for special events or during final exam period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Provide faculty with administrative support, including managing calendars, scheduling meetings, drafting correspondence, keeping records and files, printing course materials, upkeeping classrooms and supplies, proctoring exams, coordinating domestic and international travel itineraries for student competitions, and assisting with faculty events, always approaching work with a spirit of service.

* Regularly interact as a kind and cooperative teammate with full-time faculty members, including the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Director of Legal Research & Writing, Director of Trial Advocacy, Director of Competitive Advocacy, and Director of Student Success.

* Act as an administrative resource to part-time adjunct faculty.

* Communicate clearly with and report directly to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs.

* Manage and prioritize multiple tasks with flexibility, attention to detail, follow-through, and courtesy.

* Take on more specific duties and responsibilities associated with the position as assigned or reassigned at any time, with or without advanced notice.

* Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.

* Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to Title IX and FERPA guidelines (training provided).

Education/Experience:

* Associate or bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.

* Administrative experience in a professional office setting required; academic setting preferred.

* Tidy; ability to upkeep classroom conditions and supplies.

* Self-motivated; ability to anticipate needs and initiate action.

* Strong written communication skills; ability to prepare and proofread correspondence, documents and reports, with correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

* Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills; ability to interact clearly and effectively.

* Strong computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) and the internet generally, and able to learn and use University systems.

* Resiliency; ability to work under mild pressure in a dynamic environment.
