Accounts Receivable Manager
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented
Accounts Receivable Manager
to lead our high-volume financial shared services team. This role requires strategic vision, strong leadership, and a customer-focused approach to ensure accurate and timely billings, mitigate credit risks, and maintain aged receivables at a minimum. The ideal candidate will foster high team engagement and partner with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Treasury and Operations to achieve organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Oversee and manage the AR team, including outsourcing providers, by setting strategic goals and priorities.
Recruit, train, and develop team members, conducting performance reviews, providing coaching, and fostering career growth.
Accounts Receivable Operations:
Oversee core AR functions such as cash receipt processing, billing adjustments, write-offs, refunds, security deposits tracking, and account reconciliations.
Review detailed account analyses to identify and resolve problem accounts, underpayments, non-payments, and aged balances in collaboration with the Operations team.
Lease and Retail Sales Expertise:
Ensure comprehensive understanding of commercial lease terms and sales reporting, including percentage rent calculations.
Facilitate annual sales audits by coordinating with Operations and external auditors to address findings and resolve issues.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Maintain and strengthen internal controls within the AR function, recommending improvements as needed.
Act as the primary contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring compliance and accuracy in reporting.
Process Improvement:
Review and optimize AR processes, systems, and structures to increase efficiency and standardization.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement best practices aligned with company goals.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all month-end and year-end close activities and deliverables.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
10+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
Proven success in leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and expertise in AR processes.
Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse teams and senior leadership.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and other financial software.
Preferred Skills:
Experience in commercial lease agreements and retail sales reporting.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Critical thinker with the ability to foresee challenges and develop alternative solutions.
