PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Coordinates and implements District-wide technical systems, cybersecurity network security, virtual technology server and application infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required
Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
Five years of experience in Network Security or Server Administrator Role required
Data Center Management Experience required
Cisco Certified Network Professional Certificate preferred
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Coordinates network security and implements the technology infrastructure and network topology as required by Texas Education Agency Senate Bill 820.
Manages technical data center infrastructure and integration of technology solutions and programs.
Schedules, coordinates, and conducts technology infrastructure audits as needed.
Designs technology solutions to more effectively implement technology infrastructure as it relates to instruction and administrative support.
Supervises Voice-Over Internet Protocol System, virtualized VMWare server environment, Microsoft Office 365 email and spam filter solution, and SAN hardware environment.
Establishes, implements, and maintains district-wide technology network topology hardware, software, and security standards.
Oversees the maintenance of a district network and server infrastructure database of technology hardware and programs.
Serves as a resource person for software evaluations and recommendations to all departments and campuses.
Approves software and hardware purchases.
Manages the District-wide network infrastructure hardware maintenance schedule and trouble-shooting assignments.
Administers and maintains district wide network and server infrastructure library for instructional and administrative use.
Maintains current knowledge on emerging technologies and stays informed of federal and state laws pertaining to technology infrastructure management.
Observes professional and ethical work standards and enforces the copyright law.
Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EQUIPMENT USED: Servers, switches, computer, mobile devices, scanner, printer, video projector, fax machine and other technology related equipment
