Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. M-F or 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. during chip seal season
Job Duties:
Operates various types of trucks and related equipment, including tractors, loaders, and dump trucks, to maintain and repair roads.
Loads and dumps crushed stone, sand, and salt from trucksand remove them from county roads using proper equipment.
Regularly checks trucks and equipment to ensure proper fluid levels and mechanical functions.
Patches, chips, and seals roads; digs ditches, scrapes, grades, and maintains road berms and shoulders, including replacing ditch tiles and pipes as needed.
Operates mowers and functions as heavy equipment operator and/or laborer as needed. Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must have a valid CDL license and can legally operate all department vehicles. Knowledge of and ability to Operate trucks and related equipment. Basic knowledge of the mechanics of light and heavy equipment.
Knowledge of safety procedures for working in or around heavy equipment and/or working around traffic.
