Job Description
Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP is seeking a New Business Intake Analyst to assist our Conflicts Department. The New Business Intake Analyst will use uniform criteria, standards, and procedures to open new matters and assist in the efficient operation of the Conflicts Department. Departmental duties include conflict of interest searches, research, preparation of conflict reports, data entry and data verification of client/matter information in Aderant, Intapp NBI Workflow and any other processes developed to open new client/matters and assign client/matter numbers.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the Conflicts Department’s intake of clients, matters, and requests from attorneys, legal assistants and other colleagues, while providing accurate and timely responses
- Process non-financial client and matter information change requests in compliance with firm policies
- Perform database research to facilitate processing of change requests
- Perform routine quality checks of data management: client, matter, parties and blackbook conflicts data
- Process and coordinate Departing Attorney reports and responses
- Build, maintain and deliver a professional customer service attitude and relationship with all internal and external clients
- Assist other departments regarding inquiries for client/matter data reports
- Prepare or assist with preparation of the daily New Matters report distribution
- Coordinate the engagement letter and conflicts waiver processes
- Assist with the department’s lateral conflicts check process
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, or any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform duties of the position
- A minimum of two (2) years of law firm experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a client service approach
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Detail oriented with strong work ethic
- Demonstrated ability to independently plan and coordinate work with others as necessary to bring projects to successful completion
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions
- Ability to work with and maintain confidential information
- Ability to communicate with attorneys and firm personnel at all levels
- Ability to work overtime if needed
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
