In the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture, graduate and undergraduate students work with a faculty advisor to select the coursework and learning opportunities that best fit their career goals as a horticulturist or landscape architect. This position serves as the primary administrative office staff member for the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture. This position will be responsible for assisting the Department Head in all aspects of their daily duties and will assist with management of the Department Head's calendar and scheduling of appointments and meetings. This position will also conduct critical and important administrative office duties including but not limited to organizing and assembling of materials and documentation related to the University reappointment, promotion, tenure (RPT), and cumulative review process along with the annual faculty appraisals and professional development process; preparing and updating various University reports; and organizing, preparing, and assembling annual Departmental Unit Review materials and reports. The position will also assist the Department and Faculty with assembling of award dossiers and materials, and prepare other data and information as needed and determined by the Department Head. Manage employee personnel files and records and maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee records and conversations regarding employee performance.

Education & Experience
Position Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: High School/GED
7 years of related experience
Notary Public or the ability to become a Notary Public within 90 days of hire.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to compose written communications free from spelling and grammatical errors. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Self-motivation with the ability to work independently and a willingness to work collaboratively. Ability to prioritize tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Commitment to learning and obtaining proficiency in implementing OSU policies and procedures and use of Banner system. Ability and dedication to protecting confidential information and promoting a positive working environment. Proficiency with Microsoft 365. Ability to perform basic functions in Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Indesign, and Adobe Acrobat.
